It's funny when Dave Eggers read in New York, he went to the closest strip club and paid for strippers to dance in bikinis behind him thinking that would:
A. Give him more of an audience and
B. Force people to look at something other than him.
I don't know, I saw you at LitQuake and you were rather good (we were in a bar though).
Anyways, my name is Matt and I used to be the fiction guy at Cody's Books when it was still around in Berkeley. Now I live in Brooklyn but I still push your novel to people I meet here. Also loved the collection of short stories (Begin with an Outline, the story you read to the kids, is one of my favorite and the story I taught to my kids when I taught freshman english). I've been reading your blog for alittle awhile and if you come to Brooklyn I'll make sure you have a crowd of people with questions. :)
Matt

"House of Thieves" is on my permanent the-kind-of-book-I'd-like-to-write bookshelf. It shares space with "Who Do you Love" by Jean Thompson, "Fitting Ends" by Dan Chaon, "We're in Trouble" by Christopher Coake among others.

I wouldn't have been able to get past the bad grammar. I would have corrected them until I was hogtied to the chair.
